Detail:
PTFE Injector Insert primary function is to securely adapt and seal the sample injector tube within the torch assembly of the HORIBA Jobin Yvon ICP-OES laboratory instruments
What are the primary functions for the Teflon Injector Insert?
- Sample Delivery Support: It physically holds the alumina or ceramic injector tube in place, which introduces the liquid sample aerosol directly into the core of the high-temperature plasma.
- Chemical Resistance: Because it is made of solid PTFE (Teflon), it provides excellent chemical inertness against harsh acids (such as hydrofluoric, nitric, or hydrochloric acid) commonly used to dissolve laboratory samples.
- Leak Prevention: It creates a tight seal to ensure that carrier gas and sample aerosols do not leak before reaching the instrument’s torch chamber
