Core Purpose and Function of the ConeGuard Thread Protector Skimmer.
- Corrosion Protection: It seals the threaded portion of the ICP-MS sampler cone during chemical cleaning. This prevents harsh, acid-based cleaning solutions from attacking and corroding the screw threads.
- Leak Prevention: Built-in O-ring seals create a liquid-tight barrier to ensure no solution contacts the threads.
- Thread Longevity: It stops threads from binding to the instrument base, stripping, or cross-threading. This maximizes the lifespan of expensive platinum or nickel sampler cones
